BCPSS Announces Five Commitments to Families and Students


On January 3, 2021, Baltimore City Public Schools released the following five commitments to families and students.

  1. All staff required to participate in COVID-19 testing regardless of vaccination status
  2. Acceleration of COVID-19 testing this week
  3. Establish COVID-19 response division by the end of the month
  4. Staff and students in elementary school that test positive will be given rapid tests. Those that test positive will be sent home to quarantine.
  5. Provide additional ways for families to submit COVID-19 consent forms.

On December 31, PCAB sent a statement to district leadership asking for online consent forms, upgraded masking for students, COVID test results before students and staff return for instruction, updated case tracking, and updated protocols for the next long-term break periods.
